Mr. Chester Clifton Riley, age 92, of Haw River, NC, peacefully left his earthly home on Saturday April 5, 2014, at 2:25 a.m. going to a heavenly home that was prepared for him. He was surrounded by loving family and friends. Chester was born August 7, 1921, in Haw River, NC, to the late Enoch and Elma Brown Riley, was husband to the late Virginia Mann Riley and also preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Terrell, Patsy O'Daniel and Carlene Stout.

Chester served his country courageously in the US Army during the World War II, retiring from the National Guard after 30 years of service, was a retired employee of Cone Mills of Haw River and a member of the First Baptist Church of Haw River.
The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service held at 11:00 a.m. in the McClure Chapel. Pastor Larry Janey will officiate. Burial will follow in the Haw River Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the residence at other times.
Surviving him is a daughter, Debbie Riley of the home, son, Kim Riley and wife Jamie of Cheyenne. Wy., sisters, Mrs. Cleo Self of Burlington, Mrs. Faydean Jones of Orange, Fla., brothers John Riley of Punta Gorda, Fla., Mike Riley of Burlington, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
