Mr. John Henry Dixon Jr., 80, of Graham passed away at 3:05 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, at the Hospice Home of Burlington after one year of failing health and three months of critical illness. Born in Alamance County, he was the son of the late John Henry Dixon Sr. and Joybelle Stanfield Dixon, was the husband to the late Sallie Fowler Dixon and brother-in-law to the late Alma Foster Dixon. He was a retired textile supervisor and a member of Riverside Baptist Church.

Surviving family members are two sons Bobby Lee Dixon and John Keith Dixon, daughter Sandra Dixon Payne and husband Eddie Payne; stepsons Mark Fowler Johnson and William Arthur Johnson; grandchildren, Jonathon A. Payne, Joshua S. Dixon, Jennifer L. Dixon, Samantha E. Payne, Brian E. Payne and wife Nichole C. Payne; brother William Harold Dixon and his children, Terry D. Dixon, William H. Dixon Jr., David A. Dixon, Carolyn D. Zimmerman and Eric Dixon; sisters-in-law Shirley Vincent and June Moore and husband Henry, his best friend Yogi and a host of loving neighbors and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, at the McClure Funeral Home with a Memorial Service being held in the McClure Chapel at 4 p.m. The Rev. Curtis Oakley will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Hospice Home of Burlington, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
