BURLINGTON - Mr. Pyke Cole Davis Sr., 77, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

A native of Alamance County, Mr. Davis was the husband of 55 years to Martha Bowman Davis, who survives. He was the son of the late L.B. Davis Sr. and the late Mary Pike Davis.
Mr. Davis retired as a mechanical engineer from AT&T after over 40 years of service and participated in the Western-Electric Vandenberg ICBM project. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mr. Davis also was a licensed real estate broker for over 20 years.
Mr. Davis was a 1954 graduate of Walter M. Williams High School in Burlington and attended North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He was a member of the Order of Demolay.
Mr. Davis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington. He was an avid boater, fisherman and member of the Power Squad.
In addition to his wife, Martha, of the home, Mr. Davis is survived by his daughter, Marsha Davis Blinkhorn, of Mebane; son, Pyke Cole Davis Jr. and wife Teresa W. Davis, of Burlington; four grandchildren, John Blinkhorn, Grady Blinkhorn, Kaitlyn Davis and Bowman Davis; two stepgrandchildren, Tyler Williams and Katie Boone; a sister-in-law, Mary Davis, of Burlington; special nephew, Robert Wayne Davis of Alamance County; and several other nieces and nephews.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his brother, L.B. Davis Jr.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 14, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington. Officiating will be Dr. Terry Peele. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, from 6 until 8 at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington. At other times they will be at the home.
