HAW RIVER - William Worth Jr., 77, of 2846 N.C. 54, died April 17, 2014, at UNC Chapel Hill.
He was the son of the late William Worth Sr. and the late Althea Foust Worth. He was preceded in death by two sons, Johnathan Worth and Wesley Worth, a brother, Benjamin Worth, and a sister, Roxana Worth.
He is survived by four daughters, Shelia Worth of Haw River, Mary Bryant (Rone) of Greensboro, Vanessa Worth of the home and Donna Worth of Mebane; a sister, Shirley Mae Ratliff of Haw River; 10 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was a member of Melfield United Church of Christ, where he sang in the male chorus. He enjoyed watching baseball, he was very charming and well liked. Most importantly he enjoyed having fun with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday, April 21, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. at Melfield United Church of Christ, 2145 Melfield Drive, Haw River, NC 27258. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday with the family arriving at 12 noon. At other times friends may visit with the family at the home, 2846 N.C. 54, Haw River NC 27258.
A public viewing will be held Sunday, April 20, 2014 from 3 to 8 p.m. in the Roy Blackwell Chapel at the Blackwell Funeral Home, 1292 Rauhut St., Burlington NC. Burial will be in Hawfield Cemetery.
