Mr. R. Alton Webster, 91, of Rogers Road, Graham died at the Hospice Home on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 6:30 a.m.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Juanita Hammock and Joan Veletta Webster, who survives. He was a veteran of the Marine-Air Corp, serving during World War II. Alton retired as Director of Field Trials for the American Kennel Club. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon and former member of the Building Committee. He was a former Shriner and 32nd Degree Mason of the Thomas M. Holt Lodge #492 A.F. & A.M.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a brother, E. P. Webster of Graham; two step-sons, Bruce Johnson and Eric Johnson, both of Pittsburgh, PA; and two step-granddaughters, Khala Johnson and Haleigh Woodley.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Goley Webster and sister, Sarah Jones.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 12:00 noon by the Rev. William Jeffcoat with the family receiving friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon prior to the service. Military rites will be conducted at the chapel following the service. Burial will be at Alamance Memorial Park.
The members of the Thomas M. Holt Lodge #492 A.F. & A.M. will meet in emergent communication at 10:00 a.m. for the purpose of conducting Masonic graveside rites at Alamance Memorial Park.
