BURLINGTON - Mr. Claven "Jack" Johnson, 89, of 438 Dudley St., died May 28, 2014, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

He was the husband of the late Mrs. Grace Edith Gattis Johnson and son of Mr. Finley Johnson and Mrs. Etta Roney Johnson, both deceased. He was retired from LabCorp Inc. and for many years was custodian of Shiloh Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Brenday Johnson of the home; two granddaughters, Yondi and Iman Johnson; five great-grandchildren, Imari, Kennan, Nasir, Ian and Kalia; two brothers, James V. Johnson (Sadie) and Richard Johnson (Mary) of California; and two sisters, Mary J. Harris and Bennie Johnson, both of Burlington.
Public viewing will be held at Sharpe Funeral Home Saturday, May 31 from 1 to 9 p.m.
Services celebrating the life of Mr. Johnson will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Ebenezer United Church of Christ where he was a devoted member. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors 30 minutes prior to the services, and at other times the family will be at the home.
