Luz Tabales Ventura, 86, of Burlington, N.C. went home to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 9:20 p.m., just hours before her 87th birthday, after a sudden illness with several years of declining health.

Luz was laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery in Kissimmee, Fla. on Thursday, June 12, 2014.
A native of Puerto Rico, she was the wife of the late Mateo Rivera. Luz was a dedicated Mother. She tirelessly worked as an entrepreneur, restaurant owner, to provide for her family. She had a servant's heart and would care for all who would be in need. Privileged to care for her in her declining years were her two daughters Nancy Prodoehl of Burlington and Miriam Cheong of Orlando, Fla. Her son Raymond Rosario is a resident of Weymouth, Mass.
Luz is survived by her two daughters and son along with three sisters, one brother and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away…Behold, I make all things new..." Revelation 21:4-5
