MEBANE - Daniel G. "Dan" Albright, 85, of 2502 S. NC 119, Mebane died at his residence on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 9:16 PM.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Rebecca Fenton Albright, who survives and the son of William Herbert Albright and Stella Nicholson Albright, both deceased. He was a member of Hawfields Presbyterian Church where he served in the church choir. He loved Gospel Quartet Music and was a member of the Albright Brothers Quartet and the Visionaires Quartet. Dan was an avid Harley motorcycle rider. He was an honorary member of the Sheriff's Department of Alamance County and a member of the North Carolina Sheriff's Association.
In addition to his wife of the home he is survived by two daughters, Annette A. Brown and husband Jerry of Raleigh and Sue A. Johnson and husband Ronald of Haw River; a sister, Mary A. Boyer of Mebane; five grandchildren, Bret Young, Tina Readling, Tiffany Perry, Dustin Albright, and Hilary Albright; and a great granddaughter, Victoria Perry.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Albright; a son, D.G. Albright, Jr.; a sister, Laura Albright; and three brothers, Linwood Albright, Elmo Albright, and James Albright.
A funeral service will be held at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM by the Revs. David Ealy and E. Paul West. Burial will follow at Hawfields Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham from 12:30 until 1:30 PM.
