BURLINGTON - Mrs. Louise Grubb Cox, 96, of Burlington, passed away on Saturday July 26, 2014 at the home of her niece in Greensboro after several months of failing health. She was the daughter of the late Stewart Shelby and Effie Dalton Grubb. She was the loving wife of over 50 years to her deceased husband, Mr. Fred J. Cox.

Louise worked for several hosiery firms in Burlington from the early '30s till the '70s. She had a sales route for Jewel Tea Company in the '50s and had several other job descriptions. An avid reader, she kept from six to ten books from the library at all times. She was a member for many years Lakeview Community Church and always praised the men of the church for always helping her keep the yard and shrubs in good condition.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who have worked as her care giver for the last six years. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Delores Durham and Helen Lee, and a brother, Gerald Grubb.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday July 28, 2014 at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington with the Rev. Gerald Sanders and the Rev. Reid Dickens officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives 9:45 AM until 10:45 at McClure Funeral Home in Graham prior to the graveside service.
