BURLINGTON - Mr. Keith Thompson, 68, of 4032 Williams Mill Road, died at the Hospice Home on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at 4:23 p.m. following a lengthy illness.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Linda Chappell Thompson, who survives and the son of Robert Lee Thompson, father, Ilver Vaughn Foster, mother and Blair Foster, stepfather, all deceased. He was owner of T & W Wood Renewal. He was a member of St. Mark's Church where he was known as the "Candy Man." Keith could brighten up a room with his personality and never met a stranger. He loved listening to beach music.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a son, Robert Vaughn Thompson and Tyne Bibby of Greensboro; daughter, Jamie Wray Thompson of the home; two granddaughters whom he worshipped the ground they walked on, Savannah Hall and Jessica Hall; two brothers, Demus L. Thompson and Bryant Thompson, both of Morehead City; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at St. Mark's Church Sanctuary on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Robert M. Disher Jr. and the Rev. Ben Bishop with the family receiving friends following the service. At other times they will be at the residence.
