BURINGTON - Mrs. Pauline Bullis Smith, 87, of 2829 Wagner Drive, died at the Hospice Home on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at 12:05 p.m. following a brief illness.

A native of Wilkes County, she was the wife of the late Charles Calvin Smith and the daughter of John Mack Bullis and Pansy Ferguson Bullis, both deceased. She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a dedicated member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church, now Trinity Worship Center, for almost 60 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Evans of Burlington and Kaye Benedum of Lake Lure; two sisters, Nina Kimball of Elon and Betty Jean Wood of Wilkesboro; two grandchildren, Charles Shannon Ward (Heather) and Lauren Elizabeth Benedum; and four great-grandchildren, Charles Ryan Ward, Maisey Lynn Ward, Colby Alexander Flood and Landon Iverson Flood.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Lonnie Bullis, Gwyn Bullis, Roy Bullis, Albert Bullis, Harvey Bullis and Artie Bullis.
The funeral service will be conducted at Trinity Worship Center on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Darrell E. Cox with the family receiving friends from 3 to 4 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
