Albert Perrou Jr. Obituary


BURLINGTON - Mr. Albert "Bruzz" Perrou Jr., 67, of 2935 Truitt Drive, Burlington, died at 5:02 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
A native of Burke County, he was the husband of Margaret "Jinx" Perrou, who survives of the home, and son of the late Albert Francis Perrou Sr. and Leah Coman Perrou. Mr. Perrou was Vice President of Falcon Industries and a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an Elder and Deacon. He was a graduate of N.C. State University where he played football from 1961-65, member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Wolfpack Club, 1961 Shrine Bowl Player and a member of the Alumni Club, and was a High School All-American and continued as an active supporter of high school sports and N.C. State. He was a member of the Burlington City School Board for over a decade and was a fourth generation Waldensian and member of Les Phares Des Alpes.
Surviving other than his wife are two daughters, Tina Perrou Brown and husband the Rev. Robby Brown of Comer, Ga. and Mary Perrou Chester and husband Greg of Graham; daughter-in-law, Patricia Phillips Perrou of Burlington; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Perrou.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 15, at the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington with Dr. Ronald Shive and the Rev. Robby Brown officiating.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at other times at the residence.
Memorials may be made to the Tony Perrou Scholarship Fund at Southern Alamance High School, 631 Southern High School Road, Graham, N.C. 27253 or The Wolfpack Club, P.O. Box 37100, Raleigh, N.C. 27627-7100.
The family would like to offer their appreciation to Dr. Mark Miller, the Alamance Regional Medical Center Emergency Room staff and the staff of the Heart and Vascular Center at Moses Cone.
