BURLINGTON - Daniel Lee Troxler Sr., son of Mrs. Nellie Mae Thompson Troxler of Burlington, N.C. and the late Mr. William Lacey Troxler, was born in Alamance County on February 7, 1944. He departed this life on June 22, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Daniel graduated from Jordan Sellars High School in 1962 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from A&T State University.
Daniel taught school in Alamance County for a number of years, owned Troxler Insurance Agency and retired in 2008 from the Alamance County ABC Board.
A long-time, dedicated member of Springdale A.M.E. Church, he served as a Steward Superintendent of Sunday School, Sunday School teacher, Class Leader-Instructor for the New Members Class - Counselor and Chair of the Social Action Committee.
Daniel was very active in his community and was a member of the Prince Hall Augusta Lodge #642 of Burlington, North Carolina, The Beau Brummells, served on the Alamance County Democratic Executive Committee, Associate member of the Alamance County Democratic Women, a member of the Democratic Century Club and the NAACP.
Remembering him with love and affection is his devoted and loving wife of 44 years, Ella Winstead Troxler; son, Daniel Lee Troxler Jr. (Nadia); daughter, Ursula L. Troxler; three brothers, James Troxler, Charles Michael Troxler and Lawrence Troxler, all of Burlington, N.C.; sister, Reba Shipman, of Green Level, N.C.; four grandchildren, A'lyric S. Miles, Shania D. Troxler, Kamara J.L. Troxler and A'zane D. Troxler, all of Burlington, N.C.
In addition to his father, Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, William Troxler.
The funeral will be at Springdale A.M.E. Church on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 2 p.m. The family and friends visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. The interment will be in the church cemetery.
Services are entrusted to David B. Lawson Mortuary Inc., Graham.
