Elsie Larena Stout Thompson, of 4544 Coggins Road, Graham, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 6, 2012, after several years of failing health.
Born on Aug. 3, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Willis Hampton Stout and the late Nannie Emaline Rickman Stout. She was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle in Graham and was formally employed with the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields.
She is survived by her daughters, Andrea "Dink" Thompson, of Burlington, and Lorie Thompson Lassiter and husband John, of Graham; son, Bud Thompson and wife Kim, of Graham; grandchildren, Rena "Chrissy" Lassiter and Justin Davis, Chelsea Lassiter and Travis Robinson, Rebecca Huffman, Hunter Huffman, Scott Herron and wife Tosha, Shane Herron; great-grandchildren, Gavin Davis, Addison Davis, Eli Herron, Kelsea Herron; sisters, Adelle Stout Swaney, of Graham, Elaine Strickland and husband Danny, of Graham, Sue Stout Williams, of Snow Camp; brothers, Steve Stout and wife Carolyn, of Burlington, Marvin Stout and wife Susan, of Graham; and her sister-in-law, Hilda "Gray" Stout; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Crayton Thompson; sisters, Bonnie Stout Walker and Millise Stout Strickland, and brother, John Stout.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at McClure Funeral Service in Graham. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Full Gospel Tabernacle in Graham with the Rev. Kevin Barbour officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Cliff UMC Cemetery.
