GRAHAM - Mr. John T. Adams Jr., 88, of 3735 Boywood Road, Graham died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012.
A native of Danville, Va., he was the husband of the late Haver Brown Adams and the son of John Treely Adams Sr. and Dorothy Gertrude Richmond Adams, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during World War II and a member of the Ancient Order of the Deep. John was a retired carpenter and of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include three sons, Butch Adams and wife Libby of Burlington, Barry L. Adams and wife Sandra of Graham and Paul Adams and wife Sherri of Burlington; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby L. Adams and Alvis L. Adams, both of Graham; and three sisters, Otelier Davis of Graham, Thelma Ward and Nadine Bowden, both of Chapel Hill.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwynn May.
A graveside service will be conducted at Alamance Memorial Park on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Jimmy Nickelston.
The family will receive friends at the residence of the son, Barry Adams, 3735 Boywood Road, Graham, N.C.
Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
