BURLINGTON - Mr. Charlie E. "Hamp" Hightower, 74, of 1620 Morningside Drive, Apt. G, died Nov. 12, 2012 at ARMC.
He was the son of Mr. Charlie Hightower Sr. and Mrs. Pearl Enoch Hightower, both deceased. He attended Morgantown Baptist Church at an early age. He loved his family, golf, repairing houses and carpentry.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Michelle Summers Blackwell of Graham, N.C. a brother, Wallace (Cookie) Hightower of Burlington; an uncle, John Enoch of Greensboro; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Joyce Goins of Gibsonville.
He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Miles and a sister, Christine Hightower.
Public viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Roy Blackwell Chapel, Blackwell Funeral Home in Burlington. At other times the family will receive visitors and friends at the home of Wallace "Cookie" Hightower and Karen Michelle Summers Blackwell, 227 Howard St., Burlington.
The funeral will be Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at Morgantown Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Miles providing the eulogy. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church. The family will arrive at 1:30 p.m.
Services are entrusted to Blackwell Funeral Home.
