YANCEYVILLE, N.C. - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Sarah Belle Turner Bigelow, 89, of 211 John Bigelow Road, Yanceyville, on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at Alamance Hospice Home, Burlington, N.C.

She was the daughter of the late Abraham Turner and Martha Gwynn Turner, born Aug. 12, 1923, in Caswell County, N.C. She was a member of Jones Crossroad Baptist Church and she was also the oldest member of the church. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, John Clayton Bigelow, Walter William Bigelow and Thomas Dewy Bigelow; sister, Ardelia Barber; and six brothers, George Turner, John Turner, James Turner, Jeff Turner, Alverson and William Turner.
She is survived by four daughters, Martha Noble (James) and Bessie Price (William), all of Burlington, N.C., Sarah Totten (Jimmy) of Yanceyville, N.C. and Betty Ashe (Paul) of Elon, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bigelow will be Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Jones Crossroad Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Sweet Gum Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Pastor Tommy Williamson will deliver the words of comfort and Pastor Alton Vann will preside.
Family visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 7 at Jones Crossroad Baptist Church.
The family may be contacted at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Jimmy Totten, 2810 Cherry Grove Road, Yanceyville, N.C.
All arrangements for Mrs. Sarah Belle Turner Bigelow are entrusted to Fulton Funeral Home, 219 Dillard School Drive, Yanceyville, N.C.
