BURLINGTON - Jane C. Hamilton, 77, of 710 Gurney St., died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, after several months of failing health.

A native of Bethania, N.C., she was the wife of the late J.L. Hamilton Sr. and the daughter of Eugene Chadwick and Addie Carmichael Chadwick, both deceased. She was a member of Front Street United Methodist Church where she sang in the chancel choir.
She is survived by a daughter, Cindy Hamilton Randle and husband David, of Raleigh; two sons, James L. Hamilton Jr. and wife, Teresa, of Gibsonville, and Chad Hamilton and wife, Kimberly, of Graham; six grandchildren, Jennifer Leigh Randle, Laura Emily Cecil and husband, Lucas, Kellie Elizabeth Hamilton, Joshua David Randle, Anna Elizabeth Hamilton and Nathan James Hamilton; and four step-grandchildren, Michael Balson, Matthew Balson, Amy Balson, and Emily Balson.
She was preceded in death by four siblings, Kathleen Hutchens, John Henry Chadwick, Edith Crews and Kelly Chadwick.
The funeral service will be held at Front Street United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Marshall Old. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Bethania Moravian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times the family will be at the residence.
