SNOW CAMP - Mr. Stephen Fredrick Garmon, 66, of 1134 Hardwood Drive, Snow Camp died at the Durham VA Medical Center on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013.

A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Novela "Katie" Garmon, who survives and the son of Clyde Dewey Garmon and Ruby Lee Rumple Garmon. He was a veteran and retired from the U.S. Air Force and also retired from UNC Public Safety. He was a member of the American Legion Post #427 in Haw River. Stephen was also a member of Open Bible Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include sons, Steven Derrick Garmon and wife Sarah of Pulaski, Va. and Christopher Raymond Garmon of Niceville, Fla.; a daughter, Angela Lanette and fiancé Andrew Dunn of Glen Mills, Pa; four grandchildren; expecting a great-granddaughter, Addison Grace Garmon in May; two stepchildren, Denise Lane and Eric Mann, both of the home; six stepgrandchildren; six great-stepgrandchildren; and two more great-stepgrandchildren expected in May and August.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Marie Garmon.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. by Pastor Steve Pruitt. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
The family would like to extend special thanks for all the prayers, well wishes and help and support during Mr. Garmon's illness.
