LIBERTY, NC - Richard "Wayne" Covington, 65, surrounded by his family and friends, went to his rest and reward on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at his home.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Sharpe Covington of the home, three sons, Jeff (Amanda) of Lexington, Andy (Nikole) of Greensboro, Brad (Carrie) of Randleman, and daughter Melissa of Burlington; his two brothers, Robert (Tami) of Orange, TX and Milton (Allen) of Gibsonville; sister, Linda Adams (Larry) of Raleigh and 4 granddaughters, Cherokee, Savannah, Sarah and Lilah. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Jim and Becky Covington.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a skilled carpenter, enjoyed fishing and riding the granddaughters around on his golf cart.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, NC. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant UMC, Liberty, NC followed by a graveside service at the family burial site at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance and Caswell Counties.
