BURLINGTON - Mrs. Imogene Ward Roberson, 97, went to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at 4:10 a.m.

She was born April 9, 1915 in Russell, Ky., the daughter of Arthur Hyatt Ward and Mary Alice Johnson Ward. She was married 60 years to the Rev. James Hoyt Roberson and was a retired elementary school teacher.
Imogene served with her husband as he faithfully served Baptist churches in South Carolina, Kentucky and North Carolina. She was a special lady.
Survivors include a special sister-in-law, Georgeanne (Mrs. Arthur H. Jr.) Ward, four nieces and two nephews.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Vickers Ward, Alfred J. Ward and Arthur Hyatt Ward Jr.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Mrs. Roberson's residence on 514 Shadowbrook Drive, Burlington, NC.
A graveside service will be conducted at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, Flatwoods, Ky.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregiver, Sarah Lamberth and a support group of friends and staffs at both Edgewood Place and the Hospice Home.
