MEBANE, N.C. - Gladys Williams, 80, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the Hospice Home.

Mrs. Williams was born in Rockingham County, N.C. She was a member of Mebane United Methodist Church, and retired from Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co. after 26 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time at the beach.
Survivors include daughter, Carolyn Williams Ray and husband J.R. of Mebane; special pet, Princess; sisters, Evelyn Sladky and husband Tom of Yanceyville, N.C., Margaret Kivett and husband Jack of Elon, N.C. and Ann Yacavone of Reno, Nev.; brothers, Marvin Williams, Russell Williams and wife Bonnye, and Louis Williams and wife Brenda, all of Reidsville, N.C., Dewey Williams of Eden, N.C. and Jimmy Williams of Greensboro, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Lee Williams; parents, Charlie Hilliard Williams and Mary Wilkins Williams; and brothers, Roy Williams, Curtis Williams, J.P. Wilkins and John H. Williams.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Mebane United Methodist Church by the Rev. Brian Faggert.
