BURLINGTON - Mrs. Pamela McDaniel Councilman, 70, of 2645 Hamilton Road, Burlington, died at 1:43 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. after six months of declining health.

A native of Alamance County, Pam was known as "Mimi" to her four very special grandchildren. She adored them and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. She was a retired accountant and a member of the Carolina Christian Church.
Survivors include her sons, Dale Councilman and wife Ann and Craig Councilman; grandchildren, Alyssa Councilman, Megan Councilman, Riley Councilman and Madalyn Councilman; sisters, Laura Carson, Debra Bryan and husband George and Roberta Barefoot and husband Bill; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Holt Councilman and her parents, Thedford L. McDaniel and Edith C. Austin.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at McClure Funeral Home in Graham, and at other times at the residence.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Carolina Christian Church by the Rev. Mark Mitchell, Dr. Dace Lewis and the Rev. Mike Mitchner. Burial will be in Carolina Community Cemetery.
