BURLINGTON - Mrs. Doris McAdams Balog, 79, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Alamance Regional Medical Center at 7:30 a.m.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Charles Balog and the daughter of the late U.S. McAdams and the late Margie Coble McAdams.
Mrs. Balog was retired from Moses Cone Hospital, where she worked as a registered nurse. She was a member of Burlington Assembly of God and volunteered at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Balog was well loved by her family and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, David Rendos and his wife, Kari; five grandchildren, Christopher Rendos, Scott Hege, Kate Stoneham, Charles Balog and Alan Balog; two great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Steve Balog and his wife, Susan, and Mike Balog and his wife, Ann; four sisters, Rebecca Massey and her husband, Sam, Ruth M. Proctor, Carol M. Smith and her husband, Wayne, Judy M. Edwards and her husband, Danny; and multiple nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Calvin McAdams and one grandchild, Emily Balog.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Burlington Assembly of God. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Brown. A private burial will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after the service at the church; other times, they will be at the residence of a sister, Danny and Judy Edwards, 815 Vanderford St., Burlington, NC 27215.
