GRAHAM - Mr. Robert "Bobby" Lewis Flick, 79, of 242 Judge Sharpe Road, passed away at 3:06 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several years of failing health and two days critical illness.
Born in Washington County, Virginia, he served honorably in the U.S. Army with the 194th Engineer Combat Division, retired from Burlington Industries Trucking Division after 35 years of service and was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Faye Jenkins Flick, of the home; daughter, Barbara Flick Vickrey of Oak Island, N.C.; son Richard "Dicky" Flick and girlfriend Debra Rose of Oak Island; sisters, Elizabeth Brown of Greenville, S.C. and Susan Palmer and husband Leon of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; brother, Billy Flick and wife Wilma of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; grandchildren, Melissa "Missy" Leon and husband Israel, Tamra Riggan, Ricky Flick and Tate Vickrey and wife Ashley; great-grandchildren, Trae McLean, McKenley Johnson, Landon Vickrey, Rhett Vickrey; step-grandchildren, Tarez Flick Lynch and husband Eddie, Shaw Riggan and wife Allison; great-stepgrandchildren, Leverette L. Knighten III, Christopher A. Knighten, Damian R. Lynch, Dean Riggan and Trevor Riggan; and a great-great-stepgrandchild, Levi Knighten.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert King Flick and Ona Elizabeth Solomon Flick.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham Friday, April 5, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the residence.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Tom Miller and Pastor Walter Jones. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
