Philip Sorenson "Phil" 84, died April 25, 2013 at High Point Regional Cancer Center after a brief battle with pneumonia and lung cancer.
The Guest Book is expired.
Phil was born June 28, 1928, in Lynn, Mass. At a early age he joined the Army and served during WWII as an MP. After serving he moved to Cherryville, N.C. then to Burlington to work as a traveling salesman with Olympic Narrow Fabrics. Once retired, Phil moved to Florida to fulfill his retirement years with golfing, boating, and being near the ocean. While he was there, he joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary and worked part-time at West Marine in Port Charlotte. Phil, full of compassion, brightened everyone's day with just a simple joke. He had a deep love for pets, even if it meant taking in a stray.
He is survived by his two sons, Todd and Debbie Sorenson and Terry and Stacey Sorenson. Phil had five grandchildren, Amanda Sorenson, Ryan Sorenson, Alex Smith, Christy Sewell and Brittany Foster; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held by the family in Florida to honor his wishes.
We love you dad. We will see you again.
