BURLINGTON - Mrs. Patty Garner Misenheimer, 70, of 407 Portsmouth Court, Burlington, died with her family by her side at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at 8:40 p.m. following a year and a half battle with inflammatory breast cancer.

A native of Davidson County, she was the wife of Vernon Misenheimer, who survives. Patty was the daughter of Nereus Alson Garner and Ruby Chandler Shaw Garner, both deceased. She was a graduate of Denton High School and Ashmore Business College. For over 20 years, she was a merchandiser for American Greetings. Patty was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Lee Misenheimer and wife Stephanie of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two daughters, Lori Miller and husband Andy of Clayton and Sarah Misenheimer of Burlington; one grandson, Otto Misenheimer of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Harper and Phoebe Miller of Clayton; two sisters, Gayle Garner Lamb and husband Joe of Boiling Springs and Anna Shaw Burleson of New Carrolton, Md.; and three brothers, N.A. Garner and wife Joyce and James Garner and wife Bonnie, all of Denton and Nolan Garner and wife Polly of Lexington.
A memorial service will be conducted at Macedonia Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 2 p.m. by Pastor Stephen C. Rust and Pastor Suzanne Shoffner with the family receiving friends at the church following the service. At other times they will be at the residence.
