BURLINGTON - Mr. Muir William "Bill" Grant, 90, of The Village at Brookwood, Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2:55 a.m.

A native of Boston, Mass., he was the husband of the late Agnes Lorraine Fogleman Grant and the son of George M. Grant and Lillian Louise Brine Grant, both deceased. At the age of 19, he entered the U. S. Air Force. Bill served during World War II as a navigator on B-17 bombers and retired with the rank of Major. He was a graduate of Northeastern University in 1947 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Later, he became Vice-President of Manufacturing for Ingersoll-Rand and retired with over 30 years of service. Bill was a member of Alamance Presbyterian Church and attended Shiloh Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include six nieces and nephews, eight great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-niece.
The funeral service will be conducted at Alamance Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. Keith Uffman and the Rev. Carl Parsons with the family receiving friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will be at the home of Annette Vanstory, 1716 Brookhaven Mill Road, Greensboro, N.C.
