BURLINGTON - Mr. Bruce Lee Drewis, 50, of 3000 River Hill Lane, died at his residence Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at 9:47 a.m.

A native of Denver, Iowa, he was the husband of Debbie Wilkerson Drewis and son of Joyce Schnurstein Lahmann and Danny Drewis and wife Linda, all who survive. Bruce was the manager of Burlington Brands Inc. and a supporter of activities at Western Alamance High School. He was a member of Westside Fellowship Church.
Bruce was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife of the home, mother of Guttenberg, Iowa and father of Denver, Iowa, survivors include three daughters, Sarah Shipman and husband Gary of Fayetteville, Heather Nicole Drewis of the home and friend Minh Tran and Hannah Marie Drewis of the home and friend Neil Kernodle; three grandchildren, Meghan, Gracie and Emma Shipman; two sisters, Jennifer Drewis Curtis and husband Chris of Evansdale, Iowa and Kris Drewis Murley and husband Steve of Rushford, Minn.; and mother-in-law, Gladys Wilkerson of Fayetteville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Dean Drewis.
The funeral service will be conducted at Westside Fellowship Church on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Mike Mitchener. Burial will be held in Fayetteville, N.C. in the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church cemetery on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at 11 a.m.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of his daughter, Heather, to the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 3101 Industrial Drive, Suite 210, Raleigh, NC 27609.
