Duane Stenzel Obituary
Rev. Duane Stenzel (83), a Franciscan Friar of St. John the Baptist Province (Cincinnati), died January 18th at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Originally from Wenona, Illinois Rev. Stenzel was a Franciscan for 64 years and a priest for 56 years. He was the priest director of Radio Maria in Alexandria. He served his ministry in teaching, preaching and healing in the Midwest and South.
He is survived by his sisters, Elaine Krischel of Wenona, Illinois and Kay Dose of Losant, Illinois.
Reception of his body and prayer service will be Wednesday, January 19th at 4:30 p.m. Friends are asked to call from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral.

Fr Duane helped to strengthen my faith by his loved based teachings of our Lord, Jesus Christ. He was truly a gift of the Almighty and now rests in his Holy Presence. Peace and comfort to all who mourn his passing.

To Father Duane's Sisters:
Your brother was a true disciple of the Lord, always setting an extraordinary example. Many times, he guided me spiritually, so I will be forever grateful for those moments. His homilys at Radio Maria were also very enlightening; I know he fed many of the Lord's sheep during their struggles. What a privilege it was to assist him during the weekday masses, so I will miss him, but I will hold onto those wonderful memories.

The Saints in Heaven await his arrival! Fr. Duane's ministry and testimony will live on forever in the hearts of the thousands of lives he touched. Radio Maria remains an apostolate of Our Lady of which Fr. Duane was a Devoted child. I was blessed to have worked under his leadership at Radio Maria.
