Services for Mr. Alfred Smith will be 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Live Oak Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James S. Hardison Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery Wednesday, April 10, 2013 under the direction of Good Shepherd Funeral Home.

Mr. Alfred Smith, age 67, of Alexandria, Louisiana died at 2:40 a.m. on April 4, 2013 at Alexandria V.A. Medical Center.

Alfred "Baby" Smith was born December 31, 1945 in Pineville, La to Eddie and Annie Mae Bullen Smith. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Alexandria, La.

Mr. Smith joined the United State Marine Corp in 1965, served two tours of duty in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1968. Upon his discharge from the Marines, he was employed by Grey Hound Port Authority in New York City as a manager until he retired. He returned to Alexandria after retirement.

Mr. Smith loved God, his family and others. He will always be remembered for his many acts of love.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Eddie and Annie Mae Bullen Smith and sister: Rosa Lee S. Hall.

Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter: Kim Smith; son: Terrance Smith; brother: Lee Edward Smith; sisters: Patricia A. Smith and Marilyn S. Nelson (Joseph Jr.) and one grandchild.
