Allen Joseph Gauthier

Funeral services for Mr. Allen Joseph Gauthier will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 with Father Edwin Rodriguez officiating. Entombment will be held in St. Alphonsus Mausoleum #2 in Hessmer. Arrangements are entrusted to Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville.

Mr. Gauthier, age 83, of Hessmer, passed away at Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville on November 17, 2012.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Ola Laborde Gauthier.

He was a farmer and member of Woodmen of the World, St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, and an avid LSU and Saints fan. His affection for loved ones and friends is his beautiful legacy and helps to assuage the loss of this good and kindhearted man. But even more impressive is the comfort of knowing that he had a pre-eminent faith in the Lord and that his adherence to God's precepts was an inherent quality throughout his life.

He is survived by one brother, Carl Gauthier and wife Judy of Hessmer, three sisters, Anna Adams and husband Lawrence of Evergreen, Clara Villemarette and husband Julius of Metairie, Sue Dauzat and husband Terrell of Hessmer, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, November 19, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. until shortly before funeral service time.

A Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel on Monday.

Pallbearers for the funeral service will be Michael Gauthier, David Adams, Paul Adams, Robbie Dauzat, Mark Dauzat, and Greg Valoise.
