Mr. A. D. "Chalk" Paul, Sr., age 74, went to be with his Lord Friday, January 04, 2013 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease

He was the son of Parson and Essie Dale Olive Paul of Deville. He attended Buckeye High School and served in the Louisiana National Guard. Mr. Paul was well known and respected by many in Central Louisiana. He was the long time manager of the T. G. & Y. department store in Tioga throughout the 1970's and 80's. Many current local business leaders, law enforcement, educational leaders, and even medical professionals remember Mr. Paul as their first boss and have commented how much they learned from and respected him. In the 1990's he opened and successfully owned "Chalk's One Stop" in his home town of Deville. Many of the area knew him as "Mr. Chalk" or simply "Chalk" as this was the nick name given to him as a child at Buckeye Elementary for being so tall and slender. He lived his life and ran his business by the simple instructions given to him by his Lord, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". He lived these words daily by how he treated all people regardless of position or race. He treated everyone he met fairly, compassionately, and respectfully. A. D. "Chalk" Paul, Sr. loved his family, loved to work, loved the outdoors, loved sports and loved his Lord, Jesus Christ. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Parson and Essie Dale Olive Paul, sisters, Delores Paul Seymour, Barbara Nell Paul Best, and Martha Beth Paul Johnson, and a grandson, Nicholas Jacob Paul.
