Charles David Dunn
Services celebrating the life of Mr. Charles David Dunn will be held at12:30 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with Minister of Jehovah's Witnesses Timothy Horton officiating. Burial will follow at Craig Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.
The family asks that visitation be observed Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Hixson Brothers, Pineville, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Mr. Dunn, 74, of Pineville, passed from this life on January 21, 2013, at Rapides Regional Medical Center.
He loved hunting and fishing and coached Valley Farmer's Little League baseball team in Boyce, he was a jack-of-all trades and a master of many.
During his working career he was a very hard worker that included being a member of the National Guard, worked for the United States Postal Service for 15 years, Texas and Pacific Railroads for 17 years, owned Rapides Egg Farm, one of the first convenience stores that sold sandwiches and finished out his working career as a Sergeant with the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leroy and Jessie Brown Dunn.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brenda Craig Dunn; sons, Bobby Dunn and wife Rebecca of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Ronald Dunn and wife Kathleen of Huntsville, Alabama; daughter, Donna Dunn of Pineville; stepdaughters, Martha Cady and husband John of Pineville, Jolynn Farr of Tuscon, Arizona; brothers, Leslie Dunn and wife Myrna of Natchitoches, Floyd Dunn and wife Gail of Woodworth, Wayne Dunn and wife Pam of Lena; sister, Joyce Walker and husband Ellis of Ball; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Ray Walker, Phillip Dunn, Randall Dunn, John Cady, Bradley Bryant and Oscar Craig. Honorary pallbearers will be Wendell Young, Lyndell Albert, Jessie Shelton Craig, Jim Hollingsworth and Doug Gill.
