Charles O. Curtis

Charles O. Curtis, age 78, passed away the day before his 79th birthday on January 2, 2013 after battling Parkinson's disease for over 10 years. He was a Louisiana native born in Metairie. Charles joined the U.S. Army at age 17 then volunteered for a transfer to the U.S. Air Force after a year of service. He proudly served in the USAF for 28 years traveling the world to upgrade data storage and retrieval systems for the CBPO (Consolidated Base Personnel Office) and ended his career as NCOIC of base personnel with the rank of SM Sgt before retiring in his home State.

Charles is survived by his loving wife Sharon of 56 years; sister, Barbara of Spartanburg, South Carolina; sons, Mark and Todd of Pineville; grandsons, Kyle of Papillion, Nebraska, Neil of Omaha, Nebraska, and Cameron of Pineville; and great grandson, Cooper of Papillion, Nebraska.

Charles enjoyed a long retirement taking advantage of the local trade school for small engine repair and woodworking in addition to indulging in his favorite pastime, fishing. Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed many activities such as bowling, hunting, auto racing, motorcycles, scuba diving and golf. Charles was a very private person when it came to home, family and friends. He will be loved and missed by those that knew him.

Per the wishes of the deceased, memorial services will be private and there will be no funeral. Charles requested that his remains be cremated and his ashes be deposited at his favorite fishing hole.
