Services for Clyde George Durham, Jr. will be held at 2:00 p.m., December 23 at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. B. David Brooks and Reverend David Boothe officiating. Private Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, at a later date
The family requests that visitation be observed Sunday at Hixson Brothers, Alexandria from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will continue on Monday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
Mr. Durham, 82, of Pineville passed away Friday, December 21, 2013 at his residence, surrounded by family.
During his working career he worked in display ads for the Alexandria Daily Town Talk for over forty years. He served in the United States Air Force
and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict
. Faithful to his Lord and church by serving as a Sunday School teacher and deacon at Horseshoe Drive Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church and loved volunteering with Lend a Hand. Among his many volunteer organizations: Crime Stoppers, Council of Aging and the Military Museum at Camp Beauregard, and was instrumental in forming the local Korean War Veterans Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde George Durham, Sr. and Mamie Floe Schilling Durham; sister, Marna Denbow.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Barbara S. Durham; daughters, Cindy Henderson and husband, Boyle, Tish Soileau and husband, Don, Brenda Durham; grandchildren, Rick Taylor and wife, Joy, Matt Taylor, Jeff Taylor, Rebecca Wagner and husband, Mark, Casey Soileau, Chris Mott, Kim Mott; great grandchildren, Linzay Taylor, London Taylor, Hayleigh Wagner and Kaitlyn Wagner.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
