Services celebrating the life of Danny Ray Wells will be held at 2:00 Saturday, December 22, 2012, at the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with Brother Richard DeBusk officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Park under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.

The family asks that visitation be observed Friday, December 21, at Hixson Brothers, Pineville, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Mr. Wells, 66, of Pineville, passed from this life on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of The Grand Lodge of Louisiana, F. & AM, and was a 32nd degree mason. He was also a member of the Kisatchie Union No. 379 and for 45 years a member of the Plumber's & Steamfitter's Local Union 247. He coached for Red River football for 24 years and was indicted into the Red River Football Hall of Fame.

He was preceded in death by his father Fermon Blackwell; the father that raised him, Simon Jodie Wells, and a daughter, Shannon Denise Wade.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Nelva Ruth Darcey Wells; mother, Mary Arlene Elder; daughter, Sherry Melinda Bass; brothers, Randy Wells, Robert (Bobby) Elder, and James Elder; sisters, Carolyn Belgard and Gwen Roan; grandchildren, Christina Poston, Tiffany Wade and Haley Bass; great grandchildren, Jace Rachal, Zoe Poston and Kami Poston.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Mainka, Yancy Holt, Owen Malone, Charles (Jr) Prestridge, Benji Buffington, Leon Prestridge, Donovan Elder and David Poston.
