"PaPee"

Don was 62 years old when he passed from his life here on earth at his residence with his loving wife, Jeanne, by his side. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.

He loved being outdoors, cooking, taking care of his yard and garden, and telling jokes. He had a remarkable sense of humor and made everyone around him laugh. He also had a very special way with children and animals. Don was born in Mansura, and was raised in Moncla. He attended Marksville High School and then served in the US Army and was stationed in Vietnam from 1970-1972. He resided in Baton Rouge for the last 22 years and was a very skilled carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his mother Dessie Guillory Chauffepied, father Leonce Paul LaBorde, stepfather Sidney Chauffepied, brother Glenn LaBorde, grandson Fallon O'Brien, and father-in-law John LaBorde.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Jeanne LaBorde, daughter Candy LaBorde O'Brien and husband Chris O'Brien, 2 grandsons, Logan and Skylar O'Brien, 2 grandaughters, Lakyn and Lacy O'Brien all of Pineville, sister Chalayne Dauzat of Marksville, and Candy's mother, Carrie Jane McNeal of Alexandria. Also included are a host of nieces, nephews, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and friends. Special thanks to friends and neighbors, David, Kristal, Rosie, and Harley (June Bug) Mayberry for the help and love that they shared with him.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Healing Place Church, Baton Rouge. Also, please consider making life saving changes to others in need by becoming an Organ Donor. A memorial service will be held at Healing Place Church, Baton Rouge on Friday, January 4, 2012. Visitation with family and friends starting at 1:00pm, until service at 2:00pm.
