Dorothy S. "Dot" Wynn

Memorial Services for Dorothy S. "Dot" Wynn will be held at 2pm Saturday December 29, 2012 in Grace Presbyterian Church with Dr. R.B. Vincent officiating. Inurnment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens Columbarium under the direction of John Kramer & Son.

Visitation will be held Friday December 28, 2012 from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home.

Dorothy S. "Dot" Wynn, age 77, of Alexandria passed away Friday December 21, 2012 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

She is preceded in death by her mother and step father Virginia Lee Crick Scott Burgess and Charles R. Burgess; two sisters, Robbie Suddoth and Bettye Marshall, and two brothers, Jimmy Scott and Jessie Scott.

Dot was born in Fayetteville, TN and was a very active member of the Church of Christ in Memphis. She married and served her country as a Naval Officer's wife for nearly 30 years forging many wonderful friendships across the country. Once her husband retired from the Navy, they settled here in Alexandria, LA where they acquired the Avis Rent A Car Franchise and later added the Budget Rent A Car Franchise in Alexandria, as well as in Gulfport, MS. Dot was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing in many golf tournaments throughout the state. She was a former Ladies Club Champion at the Alexandria Golf and Country Club. She was honored to serve on the steering committee in the planning and development stages of The Links golf course. She also enjoyed playing bridge and gin with her friends and staying active. Dot was often called a tiger for the strength she showed by fighting and beating stomach cancer over 10 years ago. She was also an accomplished chef who enjoyed hosting dinner parties for her friends and family. Above all else she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-six years Carl E Wynn Jr.; three children Carl E. Wynn III of Diamondhead, MS, Derek Lee Wynn and wife Linda of Pass Christian, MS, and Leigh Ann Kirsch and husband Kendall of Alexandria; five grand children Derek Lee Wynn II, Laci Lee Wynn, Robin Marie Wynn, Lawson Everett Kirsch, and Cameron Scott Kirsch; numerous nieces and nephews.
