Ellen P. Stewart
Ellen P. Stewart, 86, of Baton Rouge passed away on February 14, 2013 at Grace Home in Alexandria, Louisiana. She was born on January 31, 1927 in Coffee County, Alabama, to the late Payton and Virginia Phillips. She worked for the Billy Graham Crusade and served as president of the Baton Rouge chapter of Executive Women International (EWI). She retired as office manager of United Way of Baton Rouge and was a member of the Broadmoor Baptist Church. Her hobbies included ballroom dancing, playing bridge, traveling the world, and collecting antiques.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Royce Stewart, and her sister, Betty Phillips Daniels.
Survivors include her children, Cheryl Stewart of Bay City, Texas; Larry Stewart and wife Jennifer of Alexandria, Louisiana; as well as grandchildren, Lindsay Rogers of Houston, Texas; Alan Stewart of Lafayette, Louisiana; and Brooke Stewart of New Orleans, Louisiana.
A memorial service will be held at Broadmoor Baptist Church of Baton Rouge on February 23, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Services will be officiated by Donald Tabb. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to United Way of Baton Rouge at 700 Laurel Street.
