Funeral services for Ellis Ray "E. Ray" Paul will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at The Pentecostals of Alexandria Sanctuary, Reverend Anthony Mangun and Reverend Terry Shock officiating. Committal service will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery at Pineville under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Alexandria.

E. Ray, 82, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 21, 2013 in his residence. He was born on September 21, 1931 in Elba, Alabama to the union of Elbert and Nellie Paul of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was a MacArthur Drive Lions Club member for fifteen years and served as president for three years. He was an independent insurance agent for over fifty-four years in the Alexandria area. He was a graduate of Walton High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Nellie Paul; one sister, Mildred and Leon Rayley; and one brother-in-law, Billy Smith.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, his wife of forty-two years, Rolane Paul of Alexandria; two daughters, Daretha Paul and Vanessa King both of Dallas, Texas; one son, Greg Paul of Alexandria; grandchildren, Lauren Meynard and Chaz King both of Alexandria and Zackery Paul and Taylor Hickman both of Pollock; two sisters, Joyce Paul Byrdsong of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jeanette Smith of Tallahassee, Florida; two brothers, Reverend James and Joy Paul of Baker, Florida and Jackie and Shirley Paul of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Alvin Owens, Mike Grant, Darty Smith, Larry Clark, Brian Bossier, and Danny Dube.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 4 pm until 8 pm, then Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 9 am until service time in the church.
