Emily E. Helaire-Beverly
The funeral for Emily Elaine Beverly will be held on Saturday, 10 am, July 27, 2013 at Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church, 2705 Wise Street, Alexandria, with her Pastor Nathaniel Bell Jr., officiating, under the direction of Winnfield Funeral Home.
Ms. Beverly, 68, of Alexandria was a faithful member of Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church where she served the Lord in several capacities. Whether she participated in dramatic plays, devotional messages, vacation bible school teaching and serving of others especially with meals, she felt that giving and serving of food was her service to God's children. Emily worked as a Director of Social Services for 24 years at IHS (formerly Heritage Manor Nursing Home). She also worked as a receptionist for Volunteers of America (for the last two years).
She went home to be with her Lord and Savior July 17, 2013 at the Grace Home Hospice in Cabrini Hospital.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mary Wardsworth-Helaire; her beloved son, Steven B. Beverly; her brother Earl Helaire Jr. and her sister Henrietta Cornell.
Ms. Beverly is survived by her son, Shawn L. Beverly (Jo Ann); her daughter, Kimberly B. Beverly; daughter-in-law, Lisa Beverly; her grandson's, Taylor J., William K., Tavon J., Shawn J., Morgann M. and Talise J.; sisters, Mary Mildred Kirk and Irene Grimble and one brother, Edward Helaire; a host of nieces, nephew, friends, family and best friend from an early age, Mrs. Peggy Goodman of Santa Ana, California.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013, from 8:15 until time of service.
