Gene Logan Faught

Gene Logan Faught, born August 15, 1928 in Hope, Arkansas. He spent the majority of his life as a resident of Alexandria and Pineville. After 20 years with the Alexandria Police Department, Gene retired as the Assistant Chief of Police.

In 1983 Sheriff Grady L. Kelly hired Gene as his Executive Assistant with Rapides Parish Sheriff's Department at the rank of Major until he retired in 1993. Gene also worked as heavy equipment operator for the Red River Atchafalaya levee board and owned his own dump truck business. For many years he was a Mason. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church for decades.

Proceeded in death by his parents, Felix and Erma Faught; one brother, J. T. Faught; and sisters, Hazel Faught Watson, Martha Faught White, and Louise Faught Couvillion.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Brabham Faught; daughter, Betty Mae Faught, step-children, Debra Diboll Morgan, Dewey Diboll and wife, Lynn, and Lindsey Born Diboll; five step-grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; nephew, Jimmy Faught and a host of nieces; nephews; and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be Jimmy Faught, Danny Watson, Lindsey Diboll, Dewey Diboll, Mark Baden, and Bill Robinson. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be Patrick Haggard, Richard Morgan, Kurt Doyle, Kevin Doyle, Nick Doyle, Reginald O. Crooks, Ronnie Chenevert, Ken Kelly, and William R. Davidson.

The services will be at 11 am in the White Oaks Funeral Home in Alexandria and burial is at Forest Lawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum. Reverend Joe Kite will officiate.

Visitation will be today from 4 pm until 8 pm then Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 9 am until service time in the chapel.
