Glenn Edward Cammack
Glenn Edward Cammack born January 18, 1927 went to be with his Savior Wednesday morning, June 19, 2013. Glenn known as "Ed" left this earth peacefully in the loving arms of his wife of 61 years. He was a native and resident of Effie and served in World War II
as an infantryman in Germany.
Ed was a retired Trailways bus driver with 30 years of service. He loved to care for his passengers with exceptional kindness, songs of praise and sly gestures. He enjoyed his companionship and working relationships with all of his co-workers at Trailways.
Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman spending many hours with his family outdoors. He loved singing praises to Jesus with his brothers. Some of his favorite moments were spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Sandy Cain, parents, Montellion Ivy (M. I.) Cammack and Sottie Hines Cammack, brothers, Woodrow, Oren, and James Cammack, sister, Majorie Roszell, sister-in-law, Joyce Cammack, brothers-in-law, Wayne Roszell, and Glenn Kelone.
Those left to cherish his wonderful memory are his wife, Billie Jean Cammack, brother, Charles Cammack (Una Lee), sister, Esther Kelone, son, Michael Cammack (Joyce), grandson, Glenn Cammack (Felicia), granddaughters, Crystal Schlee (Doug), Stacy Curtis (Myron), great grandchildren, Faith and Dylan Cammack, Kyle and Shawn Schlee and one on the way, sisters-in-law, Sue and Sandy Cammack and son-in-law, Bruce Cain.
Services will be held under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville. Visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 until time of service at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Effie.
Pallbearers will be nephews and family present at the service.
The family would like to give special thanks to the professional staff at Journey Hospice for their compassionate and caring personnel.
