Funeral services will be held for Hardy Landry Dyer at 2 pm, Monday, April 8, 2013 in White Oaks Memorial Chapel of Oakdale with Reverend Greg Willis officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Naval Honor Guard. Committal services will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Oakdale under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Mr. Dyer, 83, of Oakdale, a World War II veteran, entered eternal rest on Friday, April 5, 2013 in St. Francis Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Oberlin. He retired from Local 969 teamster. He was a loving brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Genora J. Dyer; two brothers, Monroe Johnson and Johnny Johnson; four sisters, Sallie J. Monk, Catherine McHenry, Maxine Dyer, and Maudie Peters; and one granddaughter, Regina Dyer Berry.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his brothers, Glen Dyer, wife Karen of DeRidder, Hardy Ray Dyer, wife Judy of Newport, Tennessee, and Thomas Wade Dyer of Alexandria, Virginia; one sister, Jean Hickman, husband Kyle of Broaddus, Texas; grandchildren, Stephanie Dyer King, Crystal Parce Harper, Andrea Dyer Wilson, Samantha Dyer; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends may call Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 3 pm until 8 pm and Monday, April 8, 2013 from 10 am until service time in the chapel.
