Funeral services for John Arthur Cummings, III will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in the First Baptist Church, Lecompte with the Reverend Johnny Miller and Bill Robinson officiating. Committal services will follow in the Lecompte Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Alexandria.

Mr. Cummings, 57, of Leesville, entered eternal rest on Friday, October 12, 2012 in his residence. He was born on December 21, 1954 in Opelousas to the union of John Arthur and Bessie Cole Cummings. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lecompte. He was a resident of Lecompte most of his life, former proprietor of Lecompte Farm & Auto, Big John's Family Restaurant, Big John's Repair Service, and most recently a role player for Cubic at Fort Polk. He was also a Lion's Club member for numerous years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Arthur and Bessie Cole Cummings.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memory, one daughter, Amanda Rhame, her husband, Columbus of Lecompte; two sons, John A.Cummings, IV, his wife, Brandie of Columbia and William (Danny) Cummings, his wife, Emily of Forest Hill; one brother, James Cummings, his wife, Patricia of Gosnell, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Columbus Rhame, Jr., Jeramy Rhame, John Kolman Cummings, and Braedan Cummings; his fiancé, Darlene Smith Wallace of Leesville; and a host of aunts, uncles, family, and friends.

Pallbearers to serve will be James Cummings, Jr., Cody Cummings, Kyle Stokes, John Fontenot, James Monk, Frank D'Autremont, Mike Kobleur, Eddie Pringle, and William Sansing. Honorary pallbearers to serve will be O. D. Chamberlain and James Blount.

Friends may call Monday, October 15, 2012 from 11 am until 10 pm and then on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 9 am until service time in the church.
