A memorial service for John Clayton Lavergne will be held at 208 St. Clair Road, Boyce, LA with Pastor Mickey Christie officiating.

John Clayton of Gardner entered eternal rest on Monday, March 4, 2013, in his residence. He was born September 10, 1953, in Church Point, LA to the union of Joseph Chester Sr. and Mamie Rose Lavergne.

He was a dedicated and trusted director of the highway 28 west auction and detail. He was skilled in many areas. Clayton loved to fish and camp, he loved the outdoors. Every chance of spare time he had went to his grandchildren that he loved with all his heart. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Chester Lavergne.

He leaves behind his loving family to cherish his memories his wife Penny; son Tony, daughter Crystal Coker and husband Trey; grandchildren, Kirsten Lavergne, Will and Matthew Coker; mother Mamie Lavergne Begnaud; In laws; best friend, Juan Vidaurri; and a host of family and friends.

Special thanks to the sheriffs, fire departments and volunteers of Cotile. Family and friends may join in paying respects on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the residence of Frankie Smith and family, 208 St. Clair Road in Boyce, LA from 1pm to 4pm.
