Services for Mrs. Julia Cole Watts will be held in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 with Brother Grady Dodge officiating. Interment will be in Richey Cemetery in Effie. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.

Mrs. Watts, age 86 of Effie, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Watts, parents, Elachey and Mary Cole, son, Jerry Deville, brothers, Otis, Henry, and Emeric Cole, sisters, Rosella McCann, Ollie Ryder, Mattie Franks.

She was a native and resident of Effie and retired from the Louisiana State Penitentiary. She was a member of the Eastern Star, was a practicing Baptist, and a member of Richey Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Watts and wife Brenda of Watson, Arkansas, Larry Watts and wife Gail of Grand Rapids, Missouri, four Brothers, I.L. Cole of Effie, Jessie Cole of Provencal, V.W. "Butch" Cole of Effie, Kelly Cole of Van, Texas, two sisters, Lucy Harmson of Centerpoint, Katie Lavaspere of Pineville, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville on Friday, January 8, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.
