Lola Lorraine Despino
Services for Lola Lorraine Despino will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013, in Bethel Baptist Church, Colfax, with Rev. Lloyd Whitman and Rev. Carl Gulde officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Kramer of Colfax.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Kramer of Colfax and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at Bethel Baptist Church.
Lola Lorraine Despino, age 75, of Colfax, passed away January 21, 2013, in Rapides Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert Edward Despino and her parents, Teal and Lola DuBois.
Mrs. Despino attended Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed her church family there. She worked for Ethel's Grocery in Bentley for many years where she made many friends. Some of her many hobbies included reading, picking pecans, deer hunting with her husband and cooking for her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is lovingly survived by four children, Robert H. Despino and his wife, Ruth of Bentley; Randall H. Despino and his wife, Julie of Colfax; one daughter, Addie K. Thompson and her husband, Johnnie of Colfax; Ronald L. Despino and his wife, Monica of Colfax; eight grandchildren, Misty Despino of Bentley; Derek Despino (Mae)of Colfax; Jon Despino (Jessica) of Colfax; Cale Thompson and Kelly Thompson of Colfax; Candi Parrino (Frank) of Montgomery; Blake Despino and Hunter Despino of Colfax; nine great grandchildren, Bella Despino; Landon and Katelyn Despino; Layla and Chandler Despino; Gavin, Noah and Ella Parrino; and Chloe Ashmore; three sisters, Ann Phiffer and her husband, Buddy of Shreveport; Wanda Sharbino and her husband, William of Rayville, LA and Darrellene Cocoris and her husband, John of McKinney, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Derek Despino, Jon Despino, Cale Thompson, Kelly Thompson, Blake Despino and Hunter Despino. Honorary Pallbearer will be Frank Parrino.
The family wishes to express thanks to Thompson Home Health, Rapides Regional Cardiac Rehab and the community of Colfax for always caring, and lending a helping hand.
