After fighting Alzheimer's disease for many years, Mrs. Henderson, 84, of Pineville, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 with family members at her side. She was a resident at Oak Haven Community Care Center in Center Point, Louisiana.

Louise, from Pineville, was born on October 13, 1928 to Edward and Mary Jane Marsden in Alexandria, Louisiana. Louise had a deep love and appreciation for her family and was a dedicated wife and mother. Her patience, integrity, wisdom and insight helped her to provide countless hours of coaching and guidance to her beloved husband, children and grandchildren. Her culinary artistry reflected a love for providing her family and friends with a bountiful table and delicious blessings. Louise was a patient woman with a warm smile, caring nature and sparkling blue eyes that could deliver a well timed reflection to provide guidance or an insightful comment and bring a smile to those present.

Louise was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pineville and attended Louisiana College. Her working career was spent in the public sector and included time in the Rapides Parish Tax Assessors Office and the Clerk of Courts Office as a Court Reporter for the Ninth Judicial District. Mrs. Henderson was also a former Sunday School teacher at First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Morton P. Henderson, Jr. and infant daughter, Madolyn Henderson; parents, Edward and Mary Jane Marsden; brothers, Edward Marsden and James Webster, and sisters, Elouise Alsup and Chloe Jenkins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Morton P. Henderson, III and wife Saanti, of Jakarta, Indonesia; daughters, Barbara Mangrum and husband Millard of Natchitoches, Margie Stevens and husband John of Baton Rouge, Phyllis Dugas and husband Ken of Plano, Texas; eight grandchildren, Emily Mangrum Prudhomme and husband Eric, Elizabeth Mangrum, Lisa Stevens, Jay Stevens, Julie Dugas, Jared Dugas, Amanda Henderson Weaver and husband Jacob, and Austin Henderson and great grandchildren, Evan and Emma Jane Prudhomme.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Hixson Brothers, Pineville, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m..

Services for Louise M. Henderson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at the Hixson Funeral Home, Pineville with Reverend Ricky Willis officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Park,

Pineville, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.

Pallbearers included Jared Dugas, Jay Stevens, Austin Henderson, Eric Prudhomme, Dr. Bruce Rayburn and Dr. Dave Rayburn.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Oak Haven Community Care Center for the kindness and love shown to their mother during her illness. In addition, the family would also like to thank Dr. Edmund Kalifey and Guardian Hospice.
